Product Description
The Dean EABC Acoustic-Electric Bass is a cornerstone of the Dean acoustic line, designed to provide a rich, deep low-end that can be heard even when unplugged. Its oversized mahogany body paired with a select spruce top creates a large resonance chamber, delivering the volume and punch necessary to keep up with acoustic guitars in a jam session. The Satin Natural finish allows the wood to breathe, enhancing the instrument's natural resonance over time.
Built with the feel of an electric bass in mind, the mahogany neck features a comfortable C-shape profile and a full 34-inch scale length. This ensures that the string tension and spacing feel familiar to electric players while offering the organic tactile response of an acoustic. The walnut fingerboard is fitted with 24 frets, providing an extended range for melodic playing and soloing.
For live performance and recording, the EABC comes equipped with a Dean onboard preamp system. This setup includes a 3-band EQ (Bass, Middle, Treble) and a presence control, allowing you to fine-tune your amplified tone to suit any venue. The output is handled by a standard 1/4" jack, making it easy to plug into any bass amplifier or PA system, while the die-cast tuners and walnut bridge ensure reliable tuning and intonation.
